Ethyl Acetate

Ethyl acetate, systematically called ethyl ethanoate and abbreviated as EtOAc or EA, is an organic compound with the chemical formula C4H8O2. This clear liquid has a sweet, pear-like fragrance and is widely used as a solvent in adhesives, nail polish removers, and the decaffeination process for tea and coffee. It is an ester formed from ethanol and acetic acid and is produced on a large scale for industrial applications.
